MY DAY HAS BEEN MADE.

1776 is so awesome it defies words. My friends and I actually JUST watched it the night before last as a year-end celebration. Next time you watch it you ought to add the drinking game!

And John Adams (the miniseries) is good too.

HUZZA!

Ha ha, Dickinson is too easy to annoy. And no match for the comedy duo of Adams and Franklin!

1776 was one of my favorite movies when I a kid, and I used to write little stories about Adams and Franklin and Jefferson having adventures, so this really strikes a chord with me.

Great comic!

That has been one of my favorite movies since I found out about it when I was little! That song is the most amazing song ever created.

From a performing standpoint, that musical is SO weird to do. The three or four leads do song after song after song, while most everybody else gets one turn at bat apiece, like a vaudeville turn. It's such a blend of silliness and heartfelt emotion ("Mamma, Look Sharp" comes out of nowhere, like a sucker punch to the gut). And how on earth does it manage to create suspense when everyone knows damn well how it ends? There's absolutely no reason it should all work as well as it does. Go figure.

I love the profile in the third panel. The way you draw expressions just tickles me to no end.

Adams and Franklin are like those two cool guys in every college movie who made fun of the uptight dean (in this case Dickinson).

Now I can't stop thinking of "Animal House" with those three.

I love how that is exactly how it went down. I mean in RL, not in 1776. To have been from 1776, there needs to have been a penis joke from Franklin following this all up.
