Teen Hallowe'en

« previous entry | next entry »

Plus an impromptu, ah, history lesson. They're on the job, but we don't know what for. Does it matter?

Anyway, nothin says Hallowe'en like teens being punks and throwing shit.

I'm directing you to my store now because I still don't do that enough in comic posts.

Happy Hallowe'en!

These guys don't even care. It's so awesome.

Actually, this reminds me of my youth. My friend had a snowball chucked at him by some punk-ass teen when we were in grade school... Then his mom came outside and bitched the teens out. It was pretty awesome.

The most fascinating thing about this to me is that... apparently somewhere in the world, around October/Halloween, you can pick apples off trees.

Apples don't grow here, so I have no idea if this is a true story or not. So I find myself staring at the apples and thinking: "Wait, is that real? Seriously?"

Strange things.

It's normal here where I live (altitude 52° N). They are called "late/winter apples". My parents have one apple tree in they yard - and there are apples on it, even though it has no leaves left ;)

and yeah, sometimes I fail at grammar :(

Mystery Solving Teens are by far my favorite comic of yours.... it's slightly less funny without that principal being fooled again.

Still good though. Well drawn (nice to see some backgrounds!).

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more I think this is the best drawn comic I've ever seen from you. Even the panels seem more thoughtfully laid out. Love the title panel with just the hand picking the apple.

kudos.

Clearly these Mystery Solving Teens are from Slytherin otherwise they would spend less time thinking about Inferi and more time solving mysteries.

One of the only reasons I want to die with a significant amount of wealth is so my heirs can commission some absurd, macabre monument dedicated to my life.

This is interesting. These characters usually aren't this deep. I mean, it's not the biggest subject, but they are talking about death. I guess that these characters have something more to them!

That was my reaction exactly. Normally they just say, "Fuck man, Vanessa's bein' a bitch an' shit. Dude," but here they are (or the dark-haired one, anyway, is) showing the capacity for rudimentary abstract thought. Maybe his folks told him to lay off the weed and hit the books or he's grounded?

if by interesting you mean morbid, it was a change in pattern of thought and attitudes towards death. When skulls were on headstones, it was people who feared judgment after death that put them there. As attitudes softened around this, skulls and bones gave way to urns and willows and the like, symbols of remembering and mourning, more a representation of the grief of those left behind than the body itself. Beyond that, abstract designs etc of the modern era

YES MYSTERY SOLVING TEENS!

(I think that's my comment every single time they appear.)

And man, this comic reminds me so much of me, back ten years ago when I was a mystery solving teen. Except I never threw anything at kids. But hanging out in a graveyard talking about hardcöre and brütal the headstones are... totally.
