I love Frida's unibrow of doom.

And here I thought Half Dome was created by erosion.. instead, it was presidential humping. Wait, BAD THOUGHTS ABOUT THE WATERFALL GRRRRRRRR.

All of Frida's paintings were deeply personal and full of symbolism (a large part of the reason they're so important), and quite often part of the symbolism had something to do with the nature of her relationship with Diego at the time of making the painting. In paitings such as "Self Portrait of a Tehuana/Diego on My Mind" ( http://hipretty.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/kahlo_tehuana.jpg ), Frida even painted Diego into the piece.... so Kate's painting by Frida is inundated with Diego and Diego "references," naturally. :D

did that help any?

There definitely needs to be a part 2 to the first one. Probably about Teddy and Pinchot getting all naked and kissing a tree or something.

I have a friend whose book about the the early mountaineers in California just came out -- I am sending him that Muir strip.

This is the book, by the way. It's full of earnest, nature-humping men like Muir.
