Your comic is so educational! Also, those minute-o-learnins make me jealous I didn't grow up in the Great White North.

But so doesn't everything. (Sigh.)

it is educational if what you get from this post is 'Agnes Macphail was a champion of several worthy causes that she fought hard for in government."

Or, "Agnes Macphail totally ruled"

This is a great way to learn history! You're style of drawing and writing reminds me of Eddie Campbell and Zander Cannon. You're a unique voice, tho. Great fun.

The conversations with your younger self is brilliant. When I was your age I had conversations with my older self. Oddly enough, my imaginary older self pretty much said what I would say now.

Came here after John Allison recommended you at Scary Go Round.

I'd love to see more great figures from Canadian history go up against US figures. It helps my south of the border mind comprehend who they are.

PS Thanks for not pillaging the comic shop.

pillaging is always a bad idea in the end, but not an uncommon one among intoxicated people

Some of you may recall that I also made Joseph Howe bust through a wall at one point.

This is because
a) wall busting is comedy gold
b) this is how I would like to see more politics dealt with

AND that comic had a petition in it!

I should really consult my previous work in these matters.

I harbor SO much love for the Maritime Confederation comics. I did a huge research project on Albert Smith, NB's answer to Howe, so I squeed with girlish joy when I came across your hilarious Confed comics. I especially love the title, "The Maritimes I Got Stuck With". I showed it to my boyfriend who's from Ontario, and he was like, "Oh, is THAT how we suckered you guys in? Uh, sorry??", haha.

Also, I wrote an exam for the same class today and was writing an essay detailing the stances of the major players in Confederation, and I kept snickering all through my paragraph on Tupper due to the "TUPPER! What's this Confederation shit!" line from Howe. It's filled with awesome.

once I'm famous, my appeal to the Canadian government will be to give me money to write a graphic novel about young Canadian women who were recruited to work in Britisth intelligence offices in New York City during World War II

maybe you should try to get a grant for the Heritage Minutes graphic novel?
