I don't think the music industry protest is in the wikipedia article but it easily googled nonetheless!

It did mention him returning his awards, although saying there because he was sick of Canadians receiving awards when they spend most of their time in the US.

New to your comics here, but they are great :) happily, I even know about most of the historical subjects...guess those years at uni weren't entirely wasted ;)

The first song I ever heard by them was "The Lakes of Pontchartrain", and it was then that I knew that they were the best thing ever.

If you like folk country and Canada, you should check out The Duhks. They have some gospel and afrobeat in there, too, and are from Winnipeg!

I once had a girlfriend who tried to steal my Stompin' Tom t-shirt.

She didn't last.

I love Stompin' Tom! His stuff is so easy to listen to, it's hypnotic.

I also think that Stompin' Tom might possibly be totally crazy.

1) I forgot how ugly the old Juno awards used to look.
2) His stance makes a good sort of sense. I feel odd about Celine Dion still winning Juno awards despite making most of her recent millions from working at Caesar's Palace or Avril Lavigne living in LA all the time. Shania only gets away with it by wearing a Habs jersey in one of her videos.

Can you make the next one based on the Heritage Minute about basketball? Or the one about 'burnt toast'? That one is always my favourite. :D

Man I was totally talking to someone just yesterday about seizures, and immediately, as if on cue, we were both like "Burnt toast!" You can pretty much recognize a Canadian based on their understanding of the link between burnt toast and epilepsy.

I hereby second the 'Burnt Toast comic' motion, that shit is too ingrained into every Canadian under the age of 50 to not be celebrated.

It was a bit wacky when I realized the 'burnt toast' woman was also the crazy teacher from Radio Active on YTV. And that the annoying little sister is now a B-list celeb in the states. CRAZY.

I watched this Sudbury concert a long time ago and was talkin' trash about women's lib! (Aggy MacPhail would be appalled). There was an awesome lady preeformance too that was like "I dont needs a job, my man hits me but he's sexyy - stand by your abusive husband" Ahh - the conservative hilarity!
