Look at these things people made!

Hey dudes

Sometimes people send me art in the e-mail and I wanted to put some of it up because it is good! So hey hey check this out!

David Piper sent me this first piece, it is great! This is his comic here, so you can see that he has a different style going on but mimicked mine pretty well! I think my drawings are pretty easily mimicked but it is cool to see it done so nicely (and the jokes too)!

And a while back Douglas McLeod mailed this to me it is Also Great:

And this was the first fan art I ever got, way back in December from [info]lullaby_lune who always has nice things to say and also invited me to a party in Halifax once!

Was that enough exclamation marks for you? I didn't think so!

So also please look at this amazing thing right here:

This comes courtesy of [info]dragonideas. Man it's like I had talent or something. But yeah this is better than anything I will ever do in my life.

Joey Comeau also once tried to give me a photoshop tutorial in which Mr Tesla himself was colored in vivid brown suit action and I need to find that.

Anyway in closing I am 100% ok with people making history comics and the like and sending them my way, maybe I should make a thing on the website to hold them because The World Needs More Comics Of This Particular Niche!

These make me want to draw a comic of my own to contribute, but the problem is all my knowledge of history comes from your comics anyway, so I've got nothing. I don't really know a whole lot about this "Canada" island that you live on either.

do some about your own island then.

I had the same thought, I figured I could do some about Australian history (like Australia's 17th Prime minister Harold Holt, he mysteriously disappeared! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Holt) but then I realised that I can't draw to save my life.

The problem with the Holt idea is that no matter what I drew, it would not be able to live up to Shaun Micallef's exhaustive documentary on the subject, so every time I looked at it I would only feel a hollow sadness in my interior regions.

*reposts* - God, maybe I'll actually include the link this time.

WOW! That coloring is REALLY REALLY well done, and greatly compliments your artwork. In the event you ever get a book together, you should consider having a few colored ones. I'm impressed.

It's funny because the Bayeaux Tapestry is sequential art too (or so Scott McCloud tells me)

On a related note, is it okay if I make one or two LJ icons from your comics? They'd be for my own use and I'd be sure to credit you. I think I would mostly use them to comment ON your comics.

I am just a squealing fan, is what I am saying.

Oh man that's a good idea. I would so love an icon of Harold catching it in the eye. That panel gets funnier every time I read the comic.

And why is the pamphlet thief naked?

hehe. he's not supposed to be naked. I was just thinking in terms of full-body suit plus ski mask. But I suppose nakedness could add some extra... je ne sais quoi. :P

Harold's house carls (huscarls?) look even more clueless and undecided in colour. Most of all they look real. Now I truly believe that, right before the battle, one of them was standing next to Harold saying " I have a shovel".
