For Candace

Oh my goodness you guys replied the heck out of that last post! I was not expecting that! And I was inspired this morning - my friend Candace's comment made me laugh. There is no end to the delight I have in exaggerated clothing.

Back on June 23rd, I should have said Happy Birthday to Bosch, who turned 22. Well intentioned, I still forget things sometimes. A fortnight late, but Bosch, Happy Birthday!

also also also: Sorry I obviously make comics in 10 minutes sometimes

Ahahahaha! As my friends page was opening up, and I saw the first panel of your comic, before I even read any of the text or your comments, I thought, "Whoa! Look at those shoulder pads!" So then I really laughed when I got to panel 2.

I wasn't aware there were many (or, for that matter, any) other Murphy Brown comics out there, let alone enough for there to be a best one ever. Maybe I'm just reading the wrong comics.

And that last post was fantastic. I'm glad a lot of comic drawing people did some. Plus it makes me want to start doing more conversations with younger me type comics.

Nice! The other day I was wondering why Murphy Brown is never on TV, even though England has a zillion channels just for old comedy repeats.

Liking panel three where it looks like she -may or may not- tip over due to awesome shoulders.

I think because the shows around her would wither and die in her shadow!

In any case, it's clearly time to throw a shoulder pad theme party

Actually Eldin was a painter. Just to bum everyone out, the actor who played him died of a heroin overdose a couple years ago.

Is it me, or are a lot of the characters who appear in your comics smug?
I mean, it could be since whenever you hear about historical figures, you only hear about the winners, or it could be because smugness is funny, but it's just an observation.

nope, lots of them are pretty darn smug, but mostly I think it is because of the point you mentioned, about recognizable historical figures

I have never seen anyone use the word "fortnight" except in old books or serious books. Is this how Canadians talk? I feel inadequate. And thanks for the 4th of July comic. I bought Molsen's for my 4th get-together and told everyone we were also celebrating Canada day. They were like, whatever, gimme one.

I think it's used a little more often in Canada because it's a Britishism. But it's not that common.

Awesome!
There was an episode where she pretended that she got her hair cut but then removed her wig and showed off her usual giant mane. I could only think that it would look so much better cut...

Ah, 1991...

Wow, I loved that show! I used to see reruns on tv sometimes, but I don't see them anymore (maybe that's because I don't have a TV).

Also on a side note, I opened your journal page and a youtube video of Musashi vs Kojiro appeared in the upper left hand corner.
Very strange.

Bless you! I adored this show, especially Murphy's response to Dan Quayle what with being raised by an evil single mother and all. Good times.

The only thing this comic is missing is a little Dan Quayle observing from a window with a look of frustrated and impotent disapproval on his face.
